Los Angeles
is a very lively place.
There's STAPLES CENTER,
home to the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Sparks.
STAPLES puts the first
and last S in Special EventS, from major concerts by major
talent to Michael Jackson's Memorial. U.S. Figure Skating Championships
to Championship Boxing. Grammy Awards Shows to Alien Spaceship
landings. O'k, I'm kidding about the Aliens. But when they do
come I bet they book STAPLES! And, the way the building looks,
they may just fly it away.
The HUGE L.A. Convention
Center is just up the block from STAPLES. Everything thats anything
meets there so its too HUGE to cover here. But I will say the
Anime Expo is quite a site when thousands of costumed characters
take to the streets for "Cos-Play". Mere passerbys
look like pedestrians in a video game wandering about wondering
where the portal is.
Across the street from
STAPLES you have L.A. LIVE, home to Club Nokia, The GRAMMY Museum,
a 14-screen Regal Cineplex, ESPN ZONE restaurant, sports bar
and TV studio, Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, the Conga Room and the
public hang-out space, Nokia Plaza --with monsterous, quad-eyed,
TV towers that remind me of the leggy rayguns in War Of The Worlds.
Yep, downtown L.A. is a
lively wonder. And I only covered six blocks. Don't get me going
on the 30,000 strong monthly Downtown
Art Walk. Disney
Music Center, knockout nightclubs, or healthy serving of melt-in-your-mind
restaurants.
Downtown is also destined
to have a sweet collision with NFL Football on Farmers Field.
Bottom line: Downtown Los
Angeles is the liveliest place on Earth. So get lively. L.A.
LIVELY!
